Double creativity with WantedDesign

The New York public is fibrillating: NYCxDesign is beginning, sided by many others collateral events; among the most awaited, WantedDesign is starting a new era, the time of maturity: «Our focus in 2016 is to take the show onto a new step. WantedDesign has undeniably brought somethingthat was unprecedented in NYC, and gave birth to a new kind of trade show: an essential destination for business and culture, a place to develop a network and get the international pulse of design… far beyond the mere idea of a traditional show» Odile Hainaut and Claire Pijoulat – cofounders of the event – said.

WantedDesign animates the Big Apple in two direction, the most lively boroughs of Brooklyn – from May, 7 to 17, for the third year – and Manhattan, in four days running from May, 13; the strategic locations see the Brooklyn event in Industry City and the other in the Terminal Stores at Chelsea, artistic neightborhood of Manhattan.

Numerous Italian brands are protagonist of the elite district of New York: from Moroso to Alessi, from Tecno to Cappellini, the Made in Italy always fascinates an international public.

A partnership with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy gave birth to Oui Design. It is a multifaceted program developed by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy to foster creative exchange in design between France and the U.S. supported by Institut français-Paris, the French Ministry of Culture and Communication, FACE Foundation and the Florence Gould Foundation; Transatlantic Creative Exchange and We trust in Wood are two exhibits of the event.

One of the main initiative, The Conversation Series is the ideal place to get together, confront and ponder views on the international scene of design. This year, the conversation series will explore new prospective themes, like: design and science, design and cultural identity and the future of making.
