Miami awaits the Bowl Chair

Lina Bo Bardi: Together, the awaited exhibition will be hosted at the Miami Center for Architecture&Design, running from May, 12 to July, 29. The event pays tribute to the legacy of 20th century Italia-Brazialian architect, Lina Bo Bardi. Works by three artists, Madelon Vriesendorp, Tapio Snellman and Ioana Marinescu, comment on the lasting social impact of the architect’s works in the context of today Brazil’s. Curated by Noemi Blager and designed by Turner Prize-winning architecture and design collective Assemble, Lina Bo Bardi: Together is sponsored by the Italian Arper. In fact, the design brand – in partnership with Istituto Lina Bo Bardi – created a limited edition of 500 pieces of the Bowl Chair; they includes a black leather edition and a fabric version available in 7 different colors.

The second floor of MCAD will house a presentation of the Chair, orginally designed by the architect in 1951 and never produced in her lifetime, except a leather prototype which is currently hosted in the Casa de Vidro in San Paolo.
