Soho hosts Collective Design

The doors of Skylight Clarkson Sq open today, on Wednesday, the 4th of May, in occasion of Collective Design, New Yorker platform that thoughtfully selects the best proposals of a large range of galleries, both established and emerging.

Among the other installations, Capture leaps out to the visitors for the central position within the main hall. The suspension lamps Louie by .Exnovo – together with the Super Series wallpaper – complete the creation, honouring the art of New York and Rome.

David Nosanchuk ideated the chandelier, scanning a detail of a Newyorker building projected by Louis Sullivan. The laser mapping system – at the bottom of Louie production – is in line with the standard followed by the Italian brand, that realizes lighting systems through 3D printing. Transposing a buiding’s tridimensionality in a light and bright product, Nosanchuk celebrates innovation, design and history of architecture, values that characterize Collective Design.

The event is dedicated to exploring the significance of design across creative disciplines and everyday life, and it illuminates both the design process and the diversity of today’s material culture, originating a robust series of conversations and initiatives to foster dialogue and encourage the exchange of ideas.

Each year, Collective Influence – one of those initiatives – selects a renowned designer or studio in order to celebrate its exceptional work and career-long impact. After Gaetano Pesce, Hella Jongerius and Ingo Maurer, this year is Nendo’s turn; represented by the designer Oki Sato, the Japanese brand illustrates the new furniture collection, Trace-collection, through a suggestive exhibition at the entrance of the fair.

Exhibitors and collateral events to the five day in Soho (it will close on May, 8) from Collective Concept to Sight Unseen, display avant-garde installations which inspire curiosity and creativity to the public.
