IFFS’ attendances are growing

20.343 visitors, from 92 countries; 423 exhibitors in a surface of 60.000 square meters. Those are the numbers of the 33rd edition of IFFS – International Furniture Fair Singaporewith an 8% increase in overall attendances, which have distinguished in a good mix of retailers, importers/exporters, distributors/agents, contract specifiers, e-commerce retailers, and hospitality consultancy services.

Running from March, 10 to 13, a lively atmosphere featured each area of the Singapore Expo and gave to IFFS a key-role as design fair in the Far East – and not only. Suggestive installations such as Tree of Influece and Pyramid of Notion, enriched the creativity of the Design Week in Singapore, even if the diverse exhibitors completely involved the public.

A large parterre of event has framed the Asia’s premier sourcing platform, as the Furniture Deign Award (FDA) Showcase, oriented to illustrate the projects of the 11 finalists of FDA 2016. The Polish winner Katarzyna Kempa affirmed: «IFFS is a significant milestone for me. It is far different than other European shows I’ve been to in terms of aesthetics, materials, and visitor interest. IFFS gave me the chance to gather new Asian contacts, and also to learn from others even as I present my pieces and my perspective. I’m expectant about future collaborations and opportunities that may arise from this».

IFDM – part of the event – collected the opinions of the attendees od the international kermesse, which were extremely satisfied and surprised for the high quality of the products, also for the opportunities that the platform gives to the multiple players of the sector.

The Chairman of IFFS Pte Ltd Ernie Koh said: «We’ve managed to ‘marry’ the design and trade aspects of the furniture business at this edition of IFFS. In addition to being an ideal platform for striking deals and penetrating new markets, IFFS is now also the place to spot new design trends or to gain inspiration!»

IFDM reached Singapore with the first 2016 edition, dedicated to Europe, Asia and Middle-East, which is also distributed during the event of Singapore Design Week.
The positive results of the present edition convinced the 30% of the exhibitors to take part in IFFS 2017.
