Passagen sets the stage for imm

Passagen is the satellite event of the Cologne Design Week. Until January 24th it will liven up the streets of Cologne, in a whirlwind of events. The initiative, founded in 1990 by Sabine Voggenreiter, celebrates its 27th edition and has a driving force that involves more than 200 events, as well as the best names and faces of international design.

Exhibitions, art galleries, shows, openings, exceptional openings of museums and showrooms create a network that crosses the creative hubs of the city, Ehrenfeld, Belgisches Viertel and – for the first time – Klettenberg and Zollstock, in addition to the furnishing area that runs through the Ring, the Rheinauhafen district and the area around the Museum of Applied Arts.

Among the numerous initiatives, the proclamation of the A&W Designer of the Year at the Kölnischer Kunsteverein. This year the title was awarded to Jasper Morrison. To enhance the offer of the Design Week, the Museum of Applied Arts will inagurate the exhibition “Radio Time” that shows 120 years of story about radio.Furthermore, the Insitut Francais will present the new glass and pottery products, made by the young designer Laura Couto Rosaldo, winner of the 9th edition of Design Parade.

Moreover, the German Design Council will introduce the Iconic Awards: Interior Innovation at Kolnischer Kunstverein. These events keep attracting the interest of design-lovers, becoming an absolute must not to be missed.

And finally the presentation of the new capsule collection by Kartell at its local flagship store; the launch of the celebrations of B&B Italia 50 years, with the screening of the film B&B Italia.
