Love Design is back to lend a hand to research

Welcome back to LOVE DESIGN, the event which supports Italian cancer research and is only possible thanks to the joint support of the leading players of Italian design, ADI and all those who support and do voluntary work for AIRC.

This year’s appointment will run from 11 to 13 December 2015 at the Fabbrica del Vapore, the prestigious venue kindly granted by the Municipality of Milan, where the three day event will be offering exclusive design products and accessories donated by the companies taking part – including Poliform, Molteni &C, B&B, MDF Italia, Flos and Kartell – in order to raise funds for cancer research.

First conceived in 2003 by AIRC – Italian Association for Cancer Research (Lombardy committee) and ADI – Industrial Design Association, the event has managed to raise over one million six hundred thousand Euro in the course of its various editions.  This year’s objective is to train our country’s most talented cancer researchers by financing three 3-year grants – each one of which is worth 75,000 Euros – targeting young Italian researchers.

Among the novelties of LOVE DESIGN there will also be an exhibition open to all those who visit the three-day event in December at the Fabbrica del Vapore.  Seven large photographic panels, with images from the Association’s archives, will retrace the fifty years of AIRC’s activity, offering the public an overview of the achievements made by cancer research in the last five decades. .

Along with the products donated by companies, LOVE DESIGN will also hold a lottery offering some attractive prizes (a Fiat 500 tops the list). 20,000 tickets will be on sale with the objective of reaching last year’s result of 50,000 Euros.
