Maison&Objet Paris kicks off

Maison&Objet’s 2015 programme of events continues. Following the Parisian edition of January which opened its twentieth anniversary celebrations, the event then moved on to Singapore for the second year, before inaugurating its launch in Miami with Maison&Objet Americas. Today, at the Parc des Expositions in Paris, it is all set to welcome visitors to the customary September edition with an entirely new image, this in itself being one of the most significant novelties of the year: the radical transformation of its organization and the presentation of the exhibitors’ various stylistic worlds, a further confirmation of the great attention this event pays to market changes and its operators’ emerging requirements.

Following January, Villepinte now welcomes visitors with a new layout designed to provide a clearer and better defined distribution of the main sectors, subdivided into three poles.

Spread out between Halls 1,2,3,4 and 5B, the Maison pole – subdivided into four areas (Ecletic, Cosy, Elegant e Actuel) – accommodates the versatile world of decoration under its roof, comprising furnishings, lighting and textiles.

Instead, Halls 5A and 6 host the Objet pole (Fragrance, Complements, Craft e Cook&Design, Fresh, Kids, Fashion, Beloved) –  dedicated to an offering of accessories and products such as gadgets, home fragrances and kitchen accessories. Finally, halls 7 and 8 set the scene for the Luxe&Design  and Architecture D’Interieur pole, which consolidates the strong identities of Scéne d’Interier, now! Design à Vivre and Maison&Objet Projet. An exclusive alliance that enwraps the higher end of the market and the most innovative international solutions for interior decoration.

As for each past edition, the observatory of M&O has chosen a theme for elaboration. This year’s theme of Cahier di'Inspiration is “Precious”, the discovery of the many expressions of whatever is considered to be precious; the sublimation of matter by man’s geniality, for instance. This year’s novelty is the Forum d’Inspiration. A new building standing between halls 6, 7, and 8, inside which visitors may elaborate and browse on the theme indicated by the Bureau thanks to a dedicated bookshop and conference space. “This new structure – explains Philippe Brocart, Salon Director – will enable a more effective and intense expression of the theme chosen for this season, and for the seasons to come, by exploring its many facets and by encouraging people to meet and exchange views on the subject”.

Precious will also be the connecting thread of the fifth edition of Paris Design Week (running from 5 to 12 September). Faithful to its mission to “make the approach to design more democratic, also thanks to a new pricing policy, this year’s Parisian event accompanies visitors on their discovery of showrooms, concept stores, installations, museums, galleries and restaurants, with itineraries that conveniently cross the four most important and most significant quarters of the city: SaintGermain, Marais/Bastille,  Opéra/Champs-Élysées, Les Docks.  This new approach aims at connecting and interconnecting the creative fabric of Paris, whilst attracting a constantly increasing flow of French and international visitors (over 100,000 visitors in 2014).
