Set in the heart of the design district at no. 35 via Tortona, Nhow Milano is a hotel boasting an eclectic style and some intriguing interiors of generous proportions. Poised between an exhibition space and a hospitality structure, the hotel designed by architect Daniele Beretta is a former factory, once owned by General Electric, which has been converted and conceived to host design objects and artworks.
Here the architectural and organizational concept of hotel space has been completely upturned in favour of an interactive installation, fruit of artistic contaminations and the Italian lifestyle.
The structure usually hosts three exhibitions every year, two of which run for five months plus a temporary installation to coincide with the Salone del Mobile.
To mark Expo 2015, Nhow Milano reaffirms its vocation as an exhibition centre by staging a new exposition of art and design, entirely dedicated to Milano. MAD – Milano Art Design puts the spotlight on the driving passions and success stories that have spanned and continue to span the different locations and ages of this city. The four floors of the hotel have been turned into an installation that invites you to discover some of the artists, architects and designers of Milan – by birth or adoption – who have expressed their affection towards the city through their works, some of which are famous, alongside others that are less known and more confidential.
Among the works on display in the Lounge, there are pieces signed by Setsu and Shinobu Ito produced by Désirée divani.
The Wing chair, launched in 2015 and previewed at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, the Le Midì armchair with its soft lines, elegant design and embracing comfort, and the Dabliu and Dabliu-in collection, comprising side tables, coatstands, bookcase and console.
