Vismara Design. An exceptional set

Famous film director Jean-Luc Godard once said «Film-making is not a job. It is an art». It has the power to attract, arouse emotions and engage the spectators. Similarly to a work of art, it can only be fully enhanced and valorised, if expressed in the right context.  To create the ideal space in which to enjoy home entertainment in tranquillity and comfort is the corporate mission of Vismara Design, a firm that has been producing high-end furnishings for home living over 60 years.

Thanks to an elegant and refined style, intent on striking the right balance between traditional craftsmanship and the most innovative audio and video technologies, Vismara has focused its research on designing furnishing solutions that guarantee relaxation and comfort, enabling end-users to get the maximum enjoyment out of their living spaces. In the wake of this new manufacturing concept, the company has continued to extend and variegate its product offering for lounges: from TV stands to bio-ethanol fireplaces, from sideboards to the latest dining rooms, it even offers numerous solutions in the way of upholstered products, dining tables and accessories. Their common denominator is the contemporary classic style that has distinguished Vismara for over 20 years, embellished by fine materials, inlays, embroidered nubuck leathers, marble and fibres.

To confirm its leadership in this sector, as well as its intrinsic propensity for the seventh art, the company’s novelties for 2015 comprise the Home Theatre Room for residential use: traditional cinema seats are integrated with patented reclining mechanisms, footrest adjustment and back support; configurations may be personalized in terms of seat numbers, but invariably studied to ensure that all viewers get full enjoyment of the screen and Dolby surround sound.

The affinity between Vismara’s product offering and the world of entertainment has been further strengthened by the introduction of the new American Billiard table, featuring the insertion of an original decorative millerighe pantographed panel, which creates an interesting tactile and visual effect on the sides.

From the Salone del Mobile in Milan – where, alongside these new releases, the company is presenting an extension of the elegant Desire collection – the set moves on to the dynamic and effervescent context of the FuoriSalone, where Vismara furnishings are among the protagonists of the Livingooh in Wonderland event, a project designed by Livingooh and PoliHub (by Fondazione Politecnico di Milano).

In the Opificio 31 location in via Tortona, some evocative installations have been set up, inspired by Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland”: Italian furnishings and brands reconstruct the fantastic scenes of the film in a story-telling/exhibition experience.

Hence, Vismara design finds its ideal setting in a context that mingles fantasy and reality, creativity and innovation, one in which contaminations between different art forms – cinema and period furnishings – finally triumph.
