A new business network in sub-Saharan Africa is all set to get off the ground

This aim of this network is to facilitate its associated companies in their penetration of the sub-Saharan area, the Nigerian market especially, with the support of a network manager and direct local supervision.  Federlegno Arredo Eventi has promoted and handled the formation of the network and continues to supervise and coordinate the project in collaboration with Rödl  Partner, an international market consultancy firm, whose task is to provide two platforms, one in Italy and another on the African continent.  Gibus, Colombo Mobili, Carpanelli, Arcari Arredamenti and Siloma are five companies of the wood furnishing industry which have adhered to the project.

For some years now, sub-Saharan Africa is a market that has interested many Italian companies.   “As recent studies show – states Roberto Snaidero, Chairman of Federlegno Arredo Eventi – the interior design and furnishing sector has grown exponentially in Africa. With the creation of this network, we wish to make this opportunity more accessible to our companies by organizing missions and B2B events”.

In fact, according to figures elaborated by the Research Centre of Federlegno Arredo Eventi, exports to this area by the macro furnishing system in 2014 amounted to 62.87 million Euros, with a substantial increase of +29.7% over the corresponding 2013 period.
Besides, forecasts indicate that in 2030 the urban population of Africa will grow to 748 million, exceeding that of Europe which will remain constant at 685 million.
